About us

Fjallasýn means "Mountain View". We are an established family-run tourism business that was founded in 1982 in order to conduct school bus services, which we continue to do. Over the course of time we have increasingly specialized in organizing and providing tours around Iceland, with or without a tour guide, with a special emphasis on the Northeast. We serve both individuals and groups according to their requirements. Our vehicles are equipped to handle various tasks, even highland trips. A growing part of our business is the servicing of cruise ships that dock in the Northeast region, all the way from Sauðárkrókur to Þórshöfn. We take groups of all sizes on day trips or multi-day tours organized by us or the customer and provide a tour guide upon request. While the company is headquartered in Reykjahverfi in the immediate vicinity of Húsavík, we take on projects around the country, not only from Húsavík but also from locations such as Akureyri, Reykjavík, and Keflavík. We service both Icelandic groups and foreign customers who travel to the country by plane or cruise ship. In the Northeast region, our home base, you will find many spectacular destinations like the Goðafoss and Dettifoss waterfalls, Lake Mývatn, and the canyon Ásbyrgi, which are part of the popular "Diamond Circle".

    Our team

We currently employ 10-12 permanent staff. This group includes owners/managers, drivers, workshop staff and office workers. In addition, guides, driverguides and drivers work for the company on a temporary basis.
