Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I book your tours?
Easiest way from here is to book in a booking form which are shown "Book" button with all prepared tours. For further information about tours or booking, it is welcome to send an e-mail to info@fjallasyn.is

If I come through Keflavík and Reykjavík to your area, how do I plan this?

It is scheduled flight, several times every day, from Reykjavík to Akureyri by Flugfelag Islands (Air Iceland). From Akureyri to Húsavík is about 90 km. It is also possible to take a bus from Reykjavík.  A tour with us can start in Akureyri as listed further in our service list, and we do also have shuttle service. Another option is to take scheduled bus.

Where is meeting point, like in these 3 areas you mention?
In this, we try to be flexible but it is neccessary to be clear, and have confirmed with the booking, where the meeting point is. In Húsavík, we can meet by Húsavíkurstofa (Information centre) or one of the accommodations. In Mývatn area, we recommend Mývatnstofa (Myvatn Information Centre), but can also have meeting point by one of the accommodations in the area. In Akureyri, the meeting point can be by Akureyri airport, the bus terminal/information centre or next to the harbor area (for cruise visitors). There is also possible pick up by some hotel/guesthouses.

Do you offer a guide in your prepared tours?
Yes, for private tours or small groups, we have always a driver guide. And a driver and a guide for bigger groups. For birdwatching tours, we offer experienced birding guides from Falco Birding, a company consisting of frontiers of Icelandic birdwatching. And for hikers, we offer prepared tours with a local guide, but also customised service like guidance.

Are your guidance only in English?
In general, we offer English and Icelandic all year round, but in summertime we have also German and French speaking guides. On request and booked in advance.
