FS-014 Mývatn & Dettifoss
This itinerary consists of visits to the most scenic and popular sites in the district such as the Námafjall area and the adjacent Hverir with its bubbling sulphur pits, the intriguingly zoomorphic lava formations of Dimmuborgir and the Skútustaðir pseudo craters. And and a tour to Dettifoss, which is among the most powerful and majestic waterfalls in Europe. The tour then concludes with a brief stop at the Mývatn Nature Baths (ticket not included) that offer passengers a chance to go for a dip in the geothermal water of the lagoon, while enjoying the rugged scenery of an environment shaped by ice and fire, followed by a hot pot/ sauna session.
